“After visiting my mom at Jura Care Village today, I felt compelled to share this unsolicited post of gratitude and appreciation.”
My mom has been at Jura for almost 3 years, and it has truly been a Godsend in navigating a condition as difficult and heartbreaking as Alzheimer’s and dementia. The care at Jura is exceptional. My mom is so well looked after, deeply loved, treated with dignity, and given truly quality care every single day.
Everything about Jura reflects compassion and professionalism — from the homely environment, the delicious home-cooked meals, and the wonderful caring nurse/carer team “Jura Angels”, the personal touches, and the dedication shown by every member of staff.
Despite her condition, my mom has flourished under their care, and as her daughter, there is no greater gift than knowing she is safe, cared for, and valued.
But today, what overwhelmed me most was not my own mom — it was another resident whom I had not seen in a few months. I honestly did not recognise her. Only when one of the carers told me who she was did I realise. I was astounded. She had gained healthy weight, looked softer, calmer, and no longer carried the anger and hostility I had previously witnessed.
I can honestly say that this transformation is the result of quality, professional, person-centred, kind care.
Jura’s expertise in managing conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia deserves recognition. There is so much that other care homes and families caring for loved ones living with dementia could learn from the way Jura approaches care — with compassion, patience, dignity, and genuine humanity.
